 Fall is my favorite season!  Crisp, cool air and colorful falling leaves make a gorgeous background for life.  Flowers and herbs begin to fade away as energy shifts to their roots, making it the optimal time to harvest them.

consolidation, communication, new disciplines, productive work, study, clarity, care, quiet walks, more rest.

indecision, confusion, overindulgence, coffee, smoking, obscurity, fatigue.

There are certain things that we can all do, whether we experience drastic temperature drops or not.  To prepare our bodies and mind for the fall season.  

  • Reintroducing more warm, cooked seasonal foods into our diets and a meal prep plan.  Less cold salads and drinks, more teas, soups and warming spices like ginger, turmeric, and chili spices.
  •  Prepping for bed earlier, to ease into the time change and its effects in our sleep, by shutting off all electronics up to an hour before bedtime.
  • Schedule down time.  Fall and winter months are usually frenzied with back to school and heavy work load times, balance these busy days with restorative activities like a daily walk, a peaceful bath and cozy family time.
